Cheque use in Australia is declining
The way we pay is changing as more and more of us turn to digital banking.
Cheque use across Australia has been declining between 22% and 25% annually during 2019 to 2022 . Meanwhile, more businesses across Australia are no longer using cheques and countries such as New Zealand have stopped using them altogether.
While cheques are still accepted by some businesses and most banks in Australia, the trend suggests that now is a good time to get familiar with payment alternatives.
